From November 18 to 19, the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting will be held in Shenzhen.
To support the city’s image presentation and operational services during the meeting, a number of Unilumin LED displays have been installed and commissioned one after another. Covering transport hubs, public landmarks and key support projects across Shenzhen, they form an efficiently interconnected citywide visual network that conveys, through Metasight technology, the host city’s hospitality and its innovative vitality.
Lighting Up the City: A Digital Welcome Interface
One month before APEC, the creative campaign film A Feather Paints Asia-Pacific, produced by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and created by Shenzhen Media Group, was officially released. Unilumin’s large screens appear in the film as one of Shenzhen’s most representative visual landmarks: the 4K ultra-HD outdoor screen “Window of Bay Area” at Shenzhen Media Group continues to project the Bay Area’s cutting-edge digital energy to the world.

City Gateways: Building the First Welcome Route
Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport and Shenzhen North Railway Station are the core gateways through which guests arrive in Shenzhen. Along the key arrival and departure routes — the Ground Transportation Center, satellite concourse, departure hall and baggage islands at the airport, and the central points of the waiting hall at Shenzhen North — Unilumin’s high-definition large screens present APEC-themed visuals around the clock, unfolding a continuous and clear visual interface for visitors from China and abroad.
Rail transit is part of the network as well. At Chiwan Station and along Metro Line 14, Line 16 and the Line 6 Branch, Unilumin displays light up in sync, serving the public travel of residents and meeting delegates.
Landmark Districts: Building the Atmosphere of the Event
Stepping out of the transport hubs, the atmosphere of the event flows into the streets: from key commercial areas such as UpperHills and Shenzhen Joy City to popular public spaces including Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, the plaza in front of Window of the World, Qianhai Trading Plaza, Huaqiang Plaza and Phoenix Plaza, Unilumin’s large screens — with outstanding colour reproduction and reliability — turn these public spaces into digital windows that show the world a “city of innovation, city of the future.” Everywhere the eye reaches, there is something to see.

The smooth and steady running of a major international conference depends on the efficient support of the urban road network, and on the coordinated participation of all sectors of society.
