Unilumin Group Achieves Dual Carbon Footprint Certification

Unilumin Group, the LED application pioneer, providing professional LED application service, along with its subsidiary LAMPRO, has recently been awarded the Intertek Green Leaf Mark for product carbon footprint by Intertek, a globally recognized quality and safety service provider. Additionally, Unilumin received a product carbon footprint certificate jointly issued by Intertek and the Beijing Saidi Certification Center.

Dual Certification for Green Innovation
This dual certification marks a significant milestone for Unilumin Group, solidifying its leadership in the low-carbon transition within the industry. The certification process included a thorough evaluation of Unilumin's products, including the Upanel II, UminiW, LRS, RN, LRS, and BNXII series. These LED displays meet stringent standards for carbon emissions across their entire lifecycle, showcasing substantial energy-saving and carbon reduction benefits.

Understanding Product Carbon Footprint
The term "carbon footprint" has become increasingly prevalent, especially concerning products. It encompasses the total carbon emissions generated throughout a product’s lifecycle, from raw material acquisition and manufacturing to logistics and delivery to customers.

For instance, the UminiW display screen, uses RGB flip-chip technology, which enhances light source efficiency. Compared to similar conventional products, it achieves the same brightness with lower power consumption. The common cathode design, with separate voltage drives for R, G, and B light-emitting chips, further reduces energy consumption. The low-carbon certified UminiW has a maximum power consumption of 30W (P1.8), cementing its reputation for high energy efficiency and low power consumption.

The Importance of Product Carbon Footprint

  • Customer Supply Chain Evaluation: As the low-carbon concept gains global traction, international clients like Apple are aiming for net-zero emissions and carbon neutrality. They require suppliers to provide carbon footprint data for their products.

  • Government Regulations: Policies such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, effective from October 2023, mandate carbon footprint reporting for products exported to the region, impacting future carbon tax calculations. Many countries are also introducing carbon tax regulations.

  • Preferred Products for Sustainable Operations: Certified Unilumin LED products meet user demands for energy efficiency, cost reduction, carbon reduction, and environmental protection, aligning with sustainable business strategies.

Leading the Industry's Low-Carbon Transition
Intertek, a global assurance service leader with over 1,000 laboratories and offices in more than 100 countries, provides comprehensive quality assurance. The China Software Testing Center-Saidi Certification, under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, is a pioneer in national quality infrastructure for both civilian and military sectors.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Unilumin Group has established and perfected a green supply chain across its product lifecycle, achieving transparency in product carbon emissions. This commitment has earned Unilumin prestigious honors such as the "Carbon Neutrality Commitment Demonstration Unit" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

On April 24, 2023, Unilumin became the first in the industry, and internationally, to receive the TUV SUD LED display carbon label. With this latest dual certification, Unilumin continues to lead the industry’s low-carbon transition, aiming to implement low-carbon, energy-saving technologies worldwide, providing high-quality LED display services to a broader audience.
