Unilumin and Abay University have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of strategic cooperation in smart education, and joint research laboratories.
The partnership aligns with Kazakhstan’s strategic designation of 2026 as the “Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence” and supports Abay University’s ongoing efforts to accelerate the digital transformation of education and strengthen collaboration among academia, research institutions, and industry.
As the first university established in the Republic of Kazakhstan and one of the country’s most influential teacher-training institutions, Abay University ranks first among Kazakhstan’s pedagogical universities and is widely recognized as the “National Education Incubator.”
The signing meeting was moderated by Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Abay University. Representatives from both sides held in-depth discussions on educational innovation, collaborative research, talent development, and the implementation of university-industry cooperation programs.
During the meeting, university representatives presented Abay University’s achievements in institutional development, academic discipline advancement, and international ranking performance. Present at the event were Ertai Sultan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation; Nurken Musabayev, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation; Karim Baigutov, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Professor Liu Wenbin; and relevant officials from the International Cooperation Department.
Breeze Ho, General Manager of Unilumin International Sale & Service Center, led the Unilumin delegation. He introduced the company’s core research and development capabilities, technological achievements, and global business presence. With operations spanning more than 160 countries and regions, Unilumin continues to expand its localized investment across Eurasia while supporting the development of education, scientific research, and digital infrastructure in local communities.
Breeze Ho stated that Unilumin would leverage its technological expertise, industrial capabilities, and global platform resources to provide Abay University students with professional internships, practical training, and employment opportunities. The company also plans to open selected cooperation opportunities at its manufacturing bases in China and promote the implementation of joint university-industry education programs.
The partnership with Abay University represents another important milestone in Unilumin’s efforts to build a global innovation ecosystem connecting industry, academia, and research, while further advancing the company’s long-term commitment to the smart education sector. Unilumin has established the Unilumin Scholarship Fund in partnership with New York University (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts to support innovation in virtual production. It has also jointly established an AI Research Institute with Zhejiang University and developed extensive cooperation with leading institutions including Xiamen University, City University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Looking ahead, Unilumin will continue working with leading educational and research institutions worldwide. Through its advanced LED display and lighting products, technologies, and integrated solutions, the company aims to contribute to the digital transformation of global education and create new opportunities for academic and technological innovation.
